Energy consulting for deep energy retrofits
Energy simulation with PHPP or Design Builder for sizing thermal insulation and windows, and for testing bioclimatic and passive design strategies; design of the airtight and vapour control layer; optimisation of construction details to reduce thermal bridges; verification of compliance with building regulations and management of grants and subsidies.
Condensation analysis
Dynamic hygrothermal simulation with WUFI to EN 15026, and simplified Glaser assessment to EN ISO 13788, for the evaluation of risk from moisture damage due to interstitial and surface condensation, a critical issue in renovations. We conduct vapor diffusion studies and dew point analysis in building envelopes.
2D and 3D thermal bridge calculations
Analysis of construction details to optimize thermal bridging in terms of energy, comfort, and health; heat loss analysis and 2D and 3D modelling of thermal bridges to ISO 10211, CTE DBHE, and the Passivhaus standard.
Design of HVAC building services
We design heating, cooling, and domestic hot water production systems, taking into account the more complex design requirements of existing buildings compared to new construction. We have extensive experience providing efficient solutions in tight, renovated spaces.
Ventilation and indoor air quality
We analyse the ventilation of existing buildings and retrofit solutions, providing design services for efficient ventilation systems (natural, hybrid, and MVHR) that ensure optimal air quality and effective evacuation of moisture.
